A Cosmosup the Sleeve—A Preliminary Survey of Cong Yun Feng’s New Works
Parkview Green Art Taipei is pleased to announce Cong Yun Feng ‘ssolo exhibition ”Good Heaven and Earth” on May and will show his famous ink-artwork series ”Binary” and tempera-creation series “Emanation of the One ”.
As aChinese contemporary artist born in the 1990s and returned to his homelandafter studying abroad, Cong Yun Feng strives to surpass existing understandingsof media and their limits. On the one hand, he combines traditional ink artwith the digital signals of 0 and 1 to strategically create repeated layersthat delineate the traditional ink motif of monumental landscape. On the otherhand, he employs the Western classical painting technique of tempera to createa unique contemporary cultural tapestry woven with the splendid Middle Easterntotemic patterns and the common images found in traditional Chinesebird-and-flower paintings, rendering the two interacting and inter-referencing.
Good Heaven and Earth - Cong Yun Feng SoloExhibition reveals a juxtaposition of dissimilar works,ingeniously creating an interesting scene of visual illusion. As viewers readinto Cong’s works that are inspired by and responses to the fundamental conceptof I-Ching, which dictates that Qian (heaven) and Kun (earth) create everythingin the cosmos, they are simultaneously immersed in a world filled with imagesand layers, and consequently prompted to think about what reality really is inthis digital age when anything can be possible as well as virtual.
Theexhibition will start from May 26th to July 7th . Theopening will be at 4pm on Sunday, May 26th and the artist will attendand share his story with every guest.
